U-PICK FRUITS AND MORE

Hello, this is Sandy Rennie at Rennie Orchards. What a bounty of fruits and vegetables we have during the Summer and Fall months every year – including HONEYCRISP apples at the end of September! Here’s a list of what we offer and approximate dates. However, I won’t pick anything before it’s time…so mark your calendar and give us a call or visit us on Facebook to see if your favorites are ripe and ready.

And remember, we have U-Pick cherries and apples – and we can pick them for you, too.

U-PICK SWEET CHERRIES

Dark Sweet– usually perfect for picking from July through August

Cavalier - Flesh is firm and dry ripens early to mid season

Hudson - This very firm, sweet dark red, crack and rot resistant cherry extends the cherry harvest for two weeks or more. mid to late season availability.

Hardy giant - Roundish heart shaped firm juicy very good flavor mid to late season.

Ulster - Dark red, large, firm-fleshed, sweet fruit ripening mid-season.

Regina - Flattish-round. Firm, juicy, sweet, aromatic, good flavor. Ripening late season.

Royalton - is sweet and black with exceptionally large and high quality fruit. Known for its excellent taste and deep purple skin. Ripening early to mid season.

Summit - Heart-shaped. Moderatley firm, very sweet and aromatic, good flavour. Stone small. Ripening mid season.
Black pearl - Large, sweet, exceptional firmness and storability. ripening early to mid season.

Burgundy pearl - burgundy color cherry with crunchy texture, sweet flavor.

Light Sweet - typically available from July through August

Emperor Francis - round heart-shaped. Firm, juicy, sweet, rich flavour, good quality. Stone small. Ripening early in the season.

Ranier - It's large, yellow fruit with red blush is extremely sweet and delicious ripening mid season.

White gold - The only self-fertile white sweet cherry on the market. Large, firm, crack-resistant fruits are attractive light yellow with a heavy red blush, delicious for fresh eating or canning. Ripening mid season.

Radiance - is an excellent Rainier-type cherry for the early season. The large, firm blush cherry has exceptional flavor and eating qualities

U-PICK APPLES

We offer 19 varieties of apples including HONEYCRISP. 

Plus, ask us about our signature “Rennie Mix.” It’s a proprietary selection of just the right apples from our 19 varieties that, when all the flavors mix and bake together, will make you the best apple pie ever. We’ll gladly pick a “Rennie Mix” for you.

  • HONEYCRISP – The Cadillac of apples and best-selling apple in this area; I cant say enough about the Honey Crisp apple. It is out selling all my other apples three to one. When people bite into a Honey Crisp there is just one word, Wow! The flavor is just that great.

Apricots – from the last weekend of July to August 
Peaches – from late August to September 
Pears – Bartlett, Bosc, and Anjou–September; we pick the pears then store them in the cooler until gone…generally through mid-October
Gourds and squash — during October
Pumpkins – we offer great pumpkins in all shapes and sizes during October
